Position Overview
The GIS Programmer Analyst position requires demonstrated knowledge in the area of technology and the integration and development of geospatial systems. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining a robust GIS system to support all Engineering functions, provide technical support for various project teams, and develop GIS related workflow automations to increase efficiencies.
Duties Responsibilities
- Provide GIS and database technical support to Design Engineering, Permitting, and Field Engineering
- Design and develop GIS workflow automations to increase efficiencies across and within Engineering departments
- Administer relational databases to assist the GIS Database Administrator
- Perform analysis of data requests and implement adjustments to the design data as required
- Develop and monitor automated tasks to ensure data quality
- Provide guidance to GIS Analysts I and II
- Manipulate data and provide to other teams for use creating other documentation needed by the client/construction contractors
- Responsible for geodatabase design, schema development, and data management
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Requirements
- A degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Have worked for 1-2 years as a GIS Analyst II
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of FTTH Design Engineering and Architecture
- 3+ years of experience using the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software including ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online, Collector for ArcGIS
- Experience performing complex geospatial analysis and research
- Advanced knowledge in Python programming
- Experience with SQL, C#, C++, Java, Arcade, and/or JavaScript is a plus
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Positive can-do attitude
- Be a problem solver
- Strong organizational with an ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple simultaneous assignments
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- May experience long hours of standing and moving
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
