UC Engineer
General Duties:
The Unified Communications (UC) Presales Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing telecommunications infrastructure, whether in the cloud, on premise or a hybrid environment. This includes install, configuration, maintenance of the UC suite, including any legacy equipment, cloud integrations and also assist in any recommendations to customer roadmap discussions.

UC Engineer
General Duties:
The Unified Communications (UC) Presales Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing telecommunications infrastructure, whether in the cloud, on premise or a hybrid environment. This includes install, configuration, maintenance of the UC suite, including any legacy equipment, cloud integrations and also assist in any recommendations to customer roadmap discussions.
Main Responsibilities
- Knowledge and experience of deploying and migrating full stack UC products, both on premise and in the cloud. Includes:
- Knowledge of hardware and virtual infrastructure
- Over see any infrastructure upgrade tasks both customer and internal projects
- Working with suppliers and integration/implementation partners on deployments
- Migrating from onprem to cloud, vendor A to vendor B
- Assist with and participate in pre-sales exercises, including scoping client’s technical design requirements assumptions and constraints.
- Assist in creating customer facing documentation (high and low-level design, service description and statement of works)
- Able to coordinate with project teams vendors alike
- Provide guidance and best practices to our customer success team to ensure our customers get the best return of investment of their products
- Maintain internal pre-production lab for any testing of features and functionality for our go-to market strategy
- Strong technical background with minimum CCNP accreditation or similar discipline
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Deploying and migrating (but not limited to) Cisco UC infrastructure, Web conferencing platforms, such as: Microsoft Teams, Webex Cloud suite products (Calling / Meeting / Contact Centre), 3rd party interop recording products, video conferencing and endpoints
- Knowledge experience of various IP protocols, including VOIP, SIP, H323, TLS, routing switching (layer 2 3), QoS, ISDN
- Understanding of cloud suites, like Zoom, Azure services, Active Directory, SSO (OKTA / F5, etc), Intune
- Working virtually with their team and major stakeholders
- A ‘can-do’ – self-motivated individual
- Willing to travel
- Eligible to work in the US (visa / work permit required)
- Provide an excellent customer experience
- Understanding of contact centre (Genesys, Cisco, NIICE)
- Automation skills – Python
- Understanding of firewall security / best practices
