Job Description

Full-time Role: StellarRAD is looking for a talented Progress developer to help us maintain a legacy application as we transition client to our new C# GIS application. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to transition to the development team for the C# application. Transitional training will be provided as needed.

Part-time Role: StellarRAD is looking for a talented Progress developer to help us maintain a legacy application as we transition client to our new C# GIS application. This role requires 2-3 days per week.

StellarRAD Systems is a leading GIS software provider for small to medium-sized telecom companies around the world. Customers range from rural and mid-sized telecommunications providers, electric companies, universities, and municipal governments. Projects at StellarRAD involve a wide range of software development methodologies and technologies delivered across desktops, servers, web browsers, and mobile devices. Our projects often include extensive RD efforts and collaboration with customers before integrating modules into production systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement custom applications using Progress OpenEdge DB
• Design and maintain database structures to support the application
• Optimize system performance and ensure smooth operation of database systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions
• Collaborate with technical teams from other companies to create and extend system integration initiatives
• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and delivery efforts
• Work closely with support staff and end users at times to assist in the design and specification requirements for new features and enhancements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Progress software development experience including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Bachelor’s degree or 4 additional years of experience
• Experience developing applications in OpenEdge Developer
• Understanding and experience working with various relational database management systems, mainly Progress OpenEdge and SQL Server
• Demonstrated experience developing with 4GL/ABL

Desired Skills

• Experience with REST and SOAP web services
• Experience working with the Autodesk AutoCAD MAP 3D APIs
• Experience working with OpenLayers v7+, or other web-based mapping libraries
• Experience with various geospatial data formats: KML/KMZ, GeoJSON, WKT, SHP
• Understanding of web application development concepts
