Sr. Solution Architect (FULLY REMOTE)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Vertical-Wide Solutions Architect to lead architectural initiatives across our diverse portfolio of software solutions. This role is critical in defining the architectural direction, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, and guiding the development teams in delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure software. It will report directly to the VP of Software Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architectural Roadmaps:

• Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps for all software solutions within the vertical.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align architectural priorities with business objectives.

2. Architectural Story Definition:

• Define and communicate architectural user stories to development teams, providing clear guidance on implementation.

3. Solution Understanding:

• Gain deep insights into multiple solutions that encompass a wide range of technologies, including cloud (AWS and Azure), C#, Java, VB, Delphi, React, WebForms, SQL, and cloud-native back ends.
• Understand the nuances of both on-premises monolithic and microservice/modular cloud architectures.

4. Multi-Tenant and Isolated Environments:

• Manage complex security requirements which include balancing multi-tenancy opportunities and Government Cloud stringency.
• Design and oversee architectural solutions that accommodate both database and application isolation requirements.

5. Coordination with InfoSec and DevOps:

• Collaborate closely with the Information Security (InfoSec) team to ensure that security standards and practices are integrated into architectural designs.
• Work in tandem with DevOps teams to streamline deployment and operational processes.

6. Best Practices and Standards:

• Establish and promote architectural best practices and coding standards.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to industry standards and compliance requirements.

7. Performance and Scalability:

• Evaluate system performance and scalability, making recommendations for optimizations and improvements.

8. Technical Leadership:

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of architectural consistency and innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, with a track record of designing and delivering complex software solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud architectures (AWS and Azure), C#, Java, VB, Delphi, React, WebForms, SQL, and cloud-native technologies.
• Strong understanding of database and application isolation requirements in multi-tenant environments.
• Experience with InfoSec and DevOps coordination.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global cross-functional teams.
