With this end in mind, SmartLight combats fraud, waste, and abuse in healthcare through our proprietary data analysis. The Senior SQL Full-Stack Developer excels in crafting top-tier software, taking charge of tasks throughout the software development life cycle. This role involves scrutinizing and debugging code, data processing, data-driven decision-making, fostering collaboration with internal teams, and keeping up to date with innovative technologies. Additionally, the engineer offers technical guidance, mentorship, and project management prowess to ensure the triumph of software projects.

We are actively seeking a candidate with a robust background as a Data Engineer possessing full-stack developer skills. This includes expertise in myDBR, MS SQL (particularly stored procedures and scalar functions), and a commitment to industry best practices. This role entails overseeing the entire software lifecycle, encompassing responsibilities such as modifications, design, data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics. As part of our expansion, additional experience in C#, RESTful API development, and a working knowledge of Azure cloud services are essential for contributing to our future growth.

As part of this role, one will build relationships with other IT professionals, such as developers, data scientists, and business analysts. Collaborate with these professionals to acquire a deep understanding of source systems, able to make decisions quickly, and design and implement data solutions that meet the critical nature of the business.

This role is contract-to-hire. After a successful 3-month contract, you will be eligible for benefits and will transition to full-time employment.


  • Architect, build, and sustain software applications and systems throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Develop and oversee SQL stored procedures, views, and scalar functions for efficient database operations.
  • Navigate and design intricate relational databases.
  • Utilize myDBR to generate comprehensive reports, support executive dashboards, ongoing operational analysis, and aiding in management decisions for process and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiently identify and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Ensure a prompt response to issues, implementing necessary corrections to maintain the optimal performance of the application.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, showcasing a proven track record.
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing and developing relational databases, particularly in MS SQL.
  • Possess strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language, such as C#.
  • Bonus with experience with front-end technologies like React.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Showcase persuasive communication and effective teamwork skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,280.00 - $125,000.00 per year
