GRAIL is seeking a Senior Analytical Engineer, supporting Commercial Operations.  GRAIL’s Senior Analytical Engineer integrates data engineering and data analysis to curate and transform raw data to produce Business Intelligence (BI) ready datasets which will optimize our Commercial Sales Operations. This position is located in Menlo Park California, with onsite 2 days a week.  

In this role you will build out data marts using DBT and SQL for new data sources coming into our data warehouse, in close partnership with our Data Platform team within Software Engineering. As GRAIL’s first Analytical Engineer, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to shape our best practices and workflows on data transformation, testing, and documentation, while working collaboratively with stakeholders across our Commercial Organization (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Customer Experience, Product) to understand the organization-wide needs for data collection, analysis, reporting, and application. GRAIL's successful Senior Analytical Engineer is someone comfortable supporting a commercial sales organization in performance analysis, who can think strategically but is also hands on with a proven track record building a data ecosystem that delivers compelling business value in a rapidly growing environment. 

You will:
Design, build, and maintain data models in DBT using SQL.
Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to document data requirements for data marts.
Ensure data quality and integrity with testing.
Automate and scale common ad-hoc requests Lead on our best practices, workflows, and documentation.
Analysis data in Redshift.

We look to you to bring:
Expert level professional experiences in SQL and optimizing SQL queries from diverse sources towards creating performance or like analysis. 
5-8 years of direct analytical engineering or data engineering experience with a Bachelor’s Degree  in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field. 
Or, 2-5 years of direct analytical engineering or data engineering experience with a Master’s Degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field. 
Additional professional experiences may be substituted for Degree. 
3+ years of experience with DBT or similar tools, including defined working experience with often complex data modeling principles, patterns, and industry trends.
In depth experience with relational databases, query authoring, and performance tuning.
Experience in designing and re-organizing facts and dimensions tables, complex data models and SCD’s. 
Python scripting experience is highly preferred.
SalesforceTools (Sales, Marketing, Service Cloud).Experience with implementing CI/CD processes.
Solid understanding of data warehouses like Snowflake or Redshift and BI tools like Tableau.
Demonstrated positive collaboration skills with key stakeholders and system users to deliver robust systems and compelling results.

Desired Experience:
AWS (Redshift, S3, Glue, Managed Airflow) Snowflake,Tableau.
Golang.
DevOps, such as CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployment, infrastructure as code, such as  Terraform. 
Life sciences / Biotech sector experience in a regulated environment GxP, FDA, ISO 13485. 
$124,000 - $168,000 a year
The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $124,000 to $168,00. Actual base pay will consider skills, experience, and location.

Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
