Job Summary:

Camillo, a growing residential home builder, is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our small but growing data and analytics team. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling our data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and strengthening the data value chain to drive insights that support strategic decision-making. This role requires a well-rounded skillset and knowledge of data engineering, architecture, and governance.


  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure using cloud-based technologies.

  • Implement and enforce data quality standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data solutions.

  • Develop and document technical specifications for data models and ETL/ELT processes.

  • Manage and maintain cloud-based data platforms and tools.

  • Foster a data-driven culture by providing training and guidance to other team members.

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering.

  • Participate in the recruitment and development of the data and analytics team.

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Proven experience as a data engineer: Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure using modern data technologies.

  • Expert in SQL and data warehousing: Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data warehousing solutions for efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.

  • Cloud proficiency: Experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) for deploying and managing data infrastructure.

  • Scripting proficiency: Familiarity with scripting languages for automating data processing tasks.

  • Data Management and Governance:

  • Strong understanding of data quality principles: Ability to implement and enforce data quality standards, including data cleansing, validation, and monitoring.

  • Data modeling expertise: Experience in designing and documenting data models that effectively capture and represent business information.

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks: Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.

  • Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Proven experience in providing guidance, coaching, and technical support to junior team members.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking: Adept at identifying and resolving data-related challenges and developing innovative solutions.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn: Eager to stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the data engineering field.\

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role, with at least 2 years of experience in a senior role.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms is beneficial.
