We design, develop, and commercialize the next generation of inhaled nitric oxide (NO) delivery systems to address unmet medical needs of patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.

A key member of new product development efforts for critical care and home use products, sustaining engineering of existing products, systems verification and validation. Responsibilities including electronics/electrical design, control systems design, firmware development, verification, validation, design transfer to manufacturing, and adoption of best practices/ tools for the department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of systems/EE product development experience and at least 1 year of small team leadership. Experience developing mission critical, highly reliable, complex products for medical device, laboratory, aerospace, automotive and/or military applications following design control procedures is required.

Job Details

  • Electronics research, development, verification, validation and design transfer of medical devices for combination devices
  • Design and develop electronics for our products including SPICE modeling, schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Control systems design, development and verification
  • Firmware development, verification, and validation of medical devices for combination products
  • Serve as the technical expert in electrical engineering and provide guidance and mentoring to other team members
  • Identify best practices, implement, and manage electronics design tools and procedures
  • Application, customization, systems integration and evaluation of new technologies
  • Lead or participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system architecture reviews
  • Modify existing hardware/firmware to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
  • Perform development, testing, and documentation in accordance with current procedures, international standards, and FDA regulations
  • Analyze user needs and requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • Confer with engineers, software developers and others to design the system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
  • Investigate and thoroughly understand developments in electrical engineering and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years experience in EE development, control systems and testing
  • 1+ years experience leading small teams
  • Proficient in electronics/electrical engineering
  • Experience developing mission critical device control applications
  • Experience with digital and analog electronics design and modeling tools
  • Experience with digital and analog control systems design
  • Experience with Windows based embedded and/or Windows IoT development using C# preferred
  • Experience with microcontroller development in C and C++ preferred
  • Experience in all aspects of the product development lifecycle
  • Knowledgeable of risk management techniques and procedures defined by ISO 14971, FDA guidance, and other international standards
  • Experience working within product development quality system
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
