Peraton's is seeking a Data Science Business Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting our public health data science customer.

What you will do:

The qualified applicant should have a background in Data Science, Information Systems, Public Health or a related field and will work closely with the customers in gathering and documenting their requirements.

  • Performs work on all aspects of the system analysis process from end to end of the software development life cycle
  • Elicit requirements from subject matter experts using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios and workflow analysis
  • Conceptualizes new systems or modules by facilitating requirements sessions, collecting and analyzing requirements; constructing process flow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications and documenting business rules.
  • Defines, documents and translates business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements
  • Work closely with business SMEs and collaborate with the development team, enterprise architect and the project manager in all aspects of system design and development.
  • Supports development team by translating requirements and use cases into a specifications, sample screen design, flowcharts, logical data models and security design models
  • Supports testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing
  • Responsible for maintaining all assigned business systems documentation
  • Triage, log, and track requests for customer requests for new features, enhancements to be implemented in the systems
  • Analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the artifacts as needed:
  • Verify and track satisfaction of requirements in delivered solution through acceptance testing
  • Serves as a consultant to project management, senior management and customers
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in IT related position or a Masters Degree. Addiitonal years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
  • 1-3 years' experience working as a Business Systems Analyst, demonstrating strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • 1-3 years' experience working in an agile / iterative development environment
  • E xperience on projects that support public health information systems
  • Demonstrated experience with systems and applications development projects supported by the team including system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rule
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting/writing communication c ontent, materials, and products
  • Demonstrated experience in translating technical content into formats written in plain language and easy to understand
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited in formation
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize end user issues/requests
  • Proven ability to integrate with a team and work well with others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder ( Permanent resident of the US)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous CDC and/or Public Health experience
  • Formal training/certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master certification)
  • Experience with analysis, visualization and reporting software and capabilities
  • Knowled ge of data science, data management, and data analytics techniques, technologies, and tools
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, Hadoop, distributed data analytics platforms, geospatial data analytics and data management, and machine learning
  • Understanding of North Star Architecture

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
