Job Description

The data analyst assistant collects, organizes, and interprets statistical information extracted from various company and external systems, applying a broad range of data analysis tools to make the information useful for internal and external audiences, with the goal of providing insights that help the company in its decision-making processes and drive initiatives for strategic planning and business intelligence systems. Applicants who have programming experience with Java, C#.net, PHP and database administration experience will be given strong consideration as the need arises from time to time for internal software development when existing software tools do not meet the needs of the company.

The analyst assistant reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Duties:

Application of software/tools to extract the data needed

Maintenance of databases to include removing corrupt data

Perform initial analysis to assess data quality

Performing further analysis to interpret data, recognize trends, make projections, etc.

Perform final analysis to provide additional data screening

Prepare and present reports based on analysis

May assist the director of information technology with the implementation and support of business information systems
across multiple departments

Create detailed business analyses to outline problems, opportunities and solutions

Work collaboratively with marketing and IT team to develop initiatives and strategies to optimize costs, enhance or
expand services, and improve internal and external reporting

Conduct market analyses of product lines/services and overall profitability

Develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met

Develop new models that underpin sound business decisions

Specific duties may include:

Budgeting and forecasting

Planning and monitoring

Financial modelling

Variance analysis

Assist in the establishment of pricing

Core Skills:

High-level mathematical ability

Ability to analyze, model and interpret data

Proven analytical background

Familiarity with programming languages, such as SQL, C#, PHP, Javascript, HTML

Advanced Excel and/or Tableau skillset

Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving

Ability to plan work and meet tight/changing deadlines

Accuracy and attention to detail

Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills

Advanced written and verbal communication

Must understand regulatory and reporting requirements

Experience working with senior decision-makers

Education:

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in relevant discipline, including but not limited business studies, business administration/management, information technology.
