Software Performance Engineer

Build tools to measure and test the scalability and performance of HPE Machine Learning Development Environment and provide confidence that it will scale within expected environments. The team will:
Measure and verify the scaling limitations and performance
Identify bottlenecks and performance regressions
Collaborate with development teams to stretch the capabilities of the platform
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with cross-functional teams
Experience with high-performance, distributed and/or concurrent software development
Knowledge of DevOps CI/CD methodologies
Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages
Degree in computer science or a related field, or comparable experience
Minimum 6-10 years of experience in software development or system admin role specifically with super computing
Deep expertise in any of the following:
Hardware performance, especially on-premises HPC environments
Public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP or Azure)
modern containerization / orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Slurm)
Observability tools (eg. Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) and profilers

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered.
