This position is currently designated as hybrid with two days per week working in our Reston, VA office.


An applications programmer must have relevant programmatic technical expertise based upon the platform service provided. Nascent technologies may have limited experience, but must be heavily supported with training and education. Established technologies require evidence of specialized experience and applicable training is also preferred.

Essential Functions Duties:

  • Develop and enhance web applications using .NET technologies, with a strong focus on ASP .NET MVC, Entity Framework, Telerik UI, AJAX, SQL Server, and Git.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship high-quality software solutions. Work closely with client system owners and project managers that are federal government employees.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and security in all development efforts.

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years (or more) of IT application development experience including 5 years or more using .NET technologies.
  • Proficiency in ASP .NET MVC, Entity Framework, AJAX, SQL Server, and Git.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Familiarity with ALM and DevOps tools (GitHub/GitLab, Azure DevOps) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required: US Citizen

Preferred Education Experience: 10 years of experience and a bachelor's degree.

Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee. The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.

To a reduced degree, <30% of the time, candidates may have to stand, walk, lift 0-30 pounds, push or pull objects, climb stairs, bend, squat, reach, drive a car, or work overtime.
