Capital One is looking for an experienced Dev/Ops engineer with expertise in network security to join our team! This is an opportunity to design, deploy, and manage firewall technologies that drive the enhancement and evolution of our network security infrastructure.
You will collaborate and innovate with smart and passionate people within Capital One to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line while challenging yourself by learning new technologies and seeking opportunities to advance and improve our enterprise infrastructure.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Ruby and Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
Design, implement, and troubleshoot a wide range of network security platforms and technologies including Palo Alto Firewall, IDS, IPS, and VPN in AWS.
Enforce cyber security standards, automation of security services, and deployment of security solutions.Design, implement, and maintain high quality network security infrastructure connectivity solutions on-prem and in the cloud.
Able to identify current and predict emerging network-level attack vectors and formulate software tools to mitigate such risks
Ability to identify and articulate risks into technical designs that reduce overall exposure
Act as SRE, ensuring that existing and new solutions provide adequate insight and analytics capabilities for both functional and non-functional metrics reporting
At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
1+ years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
1+ years of experience with network hardware and software
3+ years of Palo Alto experience
2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible
2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes
1+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practice
Palo Alto certification (PCNSE, PCCSE or PCSAE)
CISSP, CCSE, CNSA or CSAE certification
AWS or GCP certification
2+ years of experience with network firewalls
2+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering
2+ years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure or GCP)
