Job Description:

Parsons is hiring for a talented individual who is passionate about all things Cloud. The Azure Cloud Engineer role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing automation solutions for cloud infrastructure and services. The primary goal is to streamline and optimize the deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources, applications, and workflows.

This position is part of the IT Platform Engineering team that specializes in providing enterprise-wide solutions for Parsons’s project and corporate teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Cloud Automation Solutions: Designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions to provision, configure, and manage cloud resources, such as virtual machines, containers, storage, networking, and security services.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implementing Infrastructure as Code principles using tools like Terraform (Preferred) and Azure Resource Manager (ARM).
  • Configuration Management: Utilizing configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate the setup and management of cloud servers and applications.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Integrating automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous deployment and delivery of applications on cloud platforms.
  • Orchestration: Implementing orchestration and workflow automation to coordinate complex cloud-based processes and integrate different services and systems.
  • Scripting and Development: Writing scripts and code (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to automate repetitive tasks, integrate cloud services, and enhance cloud automation capabilities. Specific knowledge of Azure Automation and Logic Apps is desired.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Implementing automated monitoring solutions to track cloud resource utilization, performance, and cost, with the aim of optimizing resource allocation and expenses.
  • Cloud Security Automation: Integrating security controls and best practices into the automation process to ensure a secure cloud environment.
  • Documentation: Creating comprehensive documentation for automation processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures for educating team members on automation best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including cloud architects, developers, and operations, to understand requirements and incorporate automation solutions into cloud projects.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Azure Administrator Associate Certification
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or Bicep.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and automation of security controls.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot automation issues and optimize workflows.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Salary Range:

$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
