Opportunity:
The Digital Enterprise Solutions team at Kent State University is looking for an Associate Applications Developer to join our team! We are currently looking for someone to join our Solutions Delivery team. The Solutions Delivery team develops custom web solutions for business units across the university. Solutions Delivery projects focus on deliverables that are as high in quality and innovation as leading companies in the commercial arena but are rooted in the desire to improve and advance the educational efforts of the entire Kent State body. This motivation creates a less cutthroat and more aspirational culture than in the commercial sector. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Baccalaureate degree in an appropriate field. Or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to an Associate degree in IS/CS plus two years of experience including; developing application requirements; design, development and /or maintaining a less complex application or a small number of less complex programs, application functions, databases, or user / application interfaces; following system life-cycle standards and IS Architectural and Security protocols; providing application-specific user support; and working effectively with close oversight.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of design and architectural patterns, particularly Model-View-Controller (MVC)
Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics for tracking and analyzing user behavior
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools to automate the deployment/testing of applications
Familiarity with MS Power Platforms
Familiarity with developing web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C# and relevant web frameworks
Understanding of databases (SQL)
Familiarity or understanding of source control, particularly Git
Familiarity with an ORM, preferably with Entity framework
Familiarity .NET Core 2.2 or higher
Familiarity with .NET Framework 4.5 or higher
Familiarity with Visual Studio or VS Code
