Compatibility issue with Patterns in Action 4.5

I re-exracted PA 4.5 and attempted to open the solution but contine to get an incompatibility issue the MVC project. I am using Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 with Update 4 installed. 
 
The migration report provides the following message:
 
Mvc\Mvc.csproj: The application which this project type is based on was not found.

I'm assuming that because of this issue I have missing references in the ActionService project for WebMatrix.Data and WebMatrix.WebData.

This has been a long standing issue since August 2013.

Please advise.

Can you load the other projects in the 4.5 Design Pattern Framework without a problem?

What puzzles me is that your VS goes through a migration.  
.NET 4.5 projects are written in VS 2012 and should load immediately in VS 2012.

I suspect it may be target related although the .NET version cannot be specified when loading an existing solution.
