Editing a forum message removes code

It seems editing a question or answer removes any code that was appended before. Suffering! :

We are looking into this. 

What we found is that when editing a message without touching the yellow code there is no problem. 

If you remove white space between your message and your code then the formatting may merge.
However, undo (Ctrl-Z) will correct this.

Do you recall what your edits were?
