Cloud computing and Windows Azure

That is a big question. 

I would think Microsoft's website is probably the best place to start reading about Windows Azure. Check this.
Also, some books are already available on Windows Azure at Amazon. Check this.

As far as Design Patterns for the cloud or Windows Azure, that is a very new area and not much is available (yet).
