I was looking for some information or pointers to patterns that can be followed for designing databases that would support data access for a SaaS product.

Any knowledge sharing is highly appreciated.

Not quite sure what you're after. Design Patterns in Code to query the DB or Design Patterns for how to structure the database? Perhaps these two links can get you started...
